I listened to an amazing sermon today on YouTube by Pastor Craig Groeschel. It was so on target with how I’ve been feeling and what’s been on my heart. That is pretty typical of me…listening to either a sermon or podcast or music as I work. It’s a positive way to pour back into my tank and keep me motivated without the negative influences that compete for my attention all day.
Pastor Craig has been teaching a series called “The Good Work.” It is centered on Nehemiah passion to go back home and help rebuild the wall for his people. This particular installment resonated with me for a few reasons:
- Him speaking to that thing that’s inside you that says you are called to do more.
- Getting brave about what it is you are called to do.
- Getting specific about what it is that you are called to do.
- Practical steps to get started.
I took it as a personal challenge to continue pursuing the work that I believe I am called to do. I’m oftened asked, “Regina, how do you do it all?!” And the response I give is the same, “I do one thing at time. Just like every other human being.” It’s when you have a clear picture of what you’re working toward (your goal), you are able to see the path a little more clearly (the action steps to get there). For me, that inludes doing ONE THING toward my goals each day. Think about it…if you did one thing toward your goals each day, how far would you be along in a week? A month? A year?
I like to use this sheet to help me keep track and move forward with my “One Thing Each Day.”
